For some time now, coffee machines that work with capsules have been available in many homes: now seems to be the time when beer lovers will be able to count on a tool that allows them to brew this beverage at home using single-use capsules.
The innovation comes from electronics giant LG, which unveiled the device during the CES show in Las Vegas earlier this year. The state-of-the-art device was christened LG HomeBrew and promises the brewing of five different varieties of beer.
Create your own batch and to your liking
Beer fans should insert one of the capsules into the device. From then on, all you have to do is click on the start button: the machine will take care of the whole process.
In total, it will take two weeks during which the team will ferment, carbonate and age the beverage. Another detail that will please users is that the machine can produce up to five liters of beer.
Variety is the spice of life
During the presentation of the device, LG announced that at the moment it will be able to make up to five different varieties of the popular beverage, although they indicated that more varieties could be added in the coming months.
So far, American hoppy American IPA, American Golden Pale Ale, full-bodied English Stout, Belgian-style Witbier and dry Czech Pilsner will be available.
On the other hand, the capsules are specially designed to work in this device. Each contains hop oil, yeast, malt and flavorings.
Technology at full capacity
How does the team achieve a product that has nothing to envy to the beer sold by any establishment? The machine is equipped with a fermentation algorithm that allows to control the product.
The variables that can change the final product in spite of the ingredients are temperature and pressure: the algorithm controls them, guaranteeing the taste of the final result.
Very clean
Once the cycle, which lasts about two weeks, has been completed, users can activate an option on the machine that allows it to disinfect automatically.
This process allows the device to be perfectly clean and ready to brew the next batch of beer.

The detail that could not be missing in a device like this is its synchronization with smartphones: it has a free application that allows users to check the status of the process from anywhere.
However, one of the real advantages of this device is the complete automation it offers. It may be perfect for those who like to have control over the things they consume in their home, while enjoying the advances in technology and the conveniences it often provides.
