App Annie, the mobile market data provider, conducted a ranking of the most popular apps of the decade in the world. And as expected, instant messaging apps along with social networks were the consumers’ favorites.
People are definitely becoming more and more adapted to new ways of communicating, which is why they are taking advantage of the benefits that smartphones offer.
Top 10 most famous applications of the last decade
In the category of best download apps, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram occupied the first four positions respectively, it is worth remembering that all of them belong to the same company.
On the other hand, Snapchat is in fifth place, the application created in 2011 and which has a fairly agile and intuitive messaging system, based on images.
Continuing with the count, of course TikTok could not be missing, which is also in sixth place in the category of the most downloaded applications. This is a good position, considering that it has been on the market for only four years. The popular Chinese application is characterized by its ease in creating short but very funny videos that can be shared with thousands of people.
Moving on, we find Skype owned by Microsoft, which as we know makes it possible to communicate via text, voice and video online.
Then, in seventh place we find UC Browser, a web browser that is quite light, since it allows to increase the speed of loading web pages. This is possible because they are compressed. You should know that the application was created by the Chinese company UC Mobile.
YouTube, the most used platform for video publishing and reproduction, could not be left out of the count either. This is why it has earned a place in the number nine position.
Finally, in the number ten position is another of the most popular applications for all users, Twitter. Famous for allowing the publication of short text messages, i.e., a maximum of 280 characters.
Finally, Annie also presented the top most downloaded games of the decade:
