The latest novelty of the Italian brand that was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, which takes place between March 7 and 17, 2019, was one that has become the most expensive new car in the world. La Voiture Noire was sold to an incognito customer for 11 million euros, before applicable taxes in its owner’s country.
Although the models of the luxury car manufacturer Bugatti, they have not been known for being the most affordable on the market. The Volkswagen group company wanted to raise the bar even higher with this new luxury supercar.
But what makes La Voiture Noire so expensive?
La Voiture Noire, which translated from French means the black car, was produced to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the brand. But why would a person pay more than 11 million euros for a car? The answer is simple:
The president of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelman in statements to The New York Times, commented on the most expensive car in the world that:
“The car combines extraordinary technology and aesthetics, along with extreme luxury.”
In addition, these are some of the most outstanding features of this new car, which is undoubtedly causing a stir:
- The Voiture Noire has a carbon fiber body, 1,500 hp and an 8-liter 16-cylinder gasoline engine.
- Bugatti has not yet specified what speed the car will reach. However, its characteristics are very similar to another of its models such as the Chiron, which can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 2.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 400km/h.
- Another feature of the supercar that makes it worthy of the title “The most expensive car in the world” is its exclusivity. And this is because only one single unit will be manufactured, i.e. there will only be one model of this type in the world.
Another important aspect is that La Voiture Noire can be completely customized by its owner, who will be able to work with the Bugatti team to configure it to his or her liking. However, it will only be able to use it from 2021 when the car is completed in full production.
